Gardeners’ World
Chocolate Cosmos, Moroccan Broom
Eleagnus, clove-scented Pinks
Honeysuckle and sweet Rocket
Fragrant catalogue thrown open
A perfume feast before our eyes
Drugging our senses on a Friday night
Then Islington Eden, sudden
Bursts upon the screen, such excess
Making us laugh out loud and cheer
The lovely gardener, smile so wide
Contagious, a technicolour
Poem, magical on a Friday night

ReplyDeleteits funny how the word CONTAGIOUS in your poem made me remember
of the the story A smile is affectionate
it gos like this: A smile is affectionate you catch it like the flu...
sorry im not seb im lily
ReplyDeleteI guessed Seb hadn't started following my poetry Lil!!! Do you know I think that poem - about the smile being infectious, may have been at the back of my mind too when I wrote that.
